Subject: From: Date: | RE: [ECS] ECS exe's posted 8/1 Martin Terry Tue, 4 Aug 1998 14:10:27 -0700 |
Mark, sorry it took a couple of days to respond, but I haven't had a
chance to look at ECS until now.
Here's the scenerio that's a problem for me:
I'm using ECST. I hit F1 for the group screen. The "Option:" and "Group
Name:" prompts default to some previous values. I use the cursor keys
to cursor to "Group Name:". Previously I could start typing a new group
name at this point, let's say the current group is "Lights" and I want
"Phone". I could type pho (enough to make this unique) and hit return
and wa-la, I'm at the phone group.
Now when I start to type, I enter p and ECS starts flashing "Error: "p"
is not a legal selection" and as I enter more characters I get
"phoneLights" and you're right, not a legal selection.
To get to phone easily I have to hit control-end, backspace through the
current word "Lights" and then enter phone. Or I can press control-T and
start typing.
This get to be a real pain since every field presented has some default
value that must be deleted.
I wouldn't mind the control-T option, but as soon as I enter one value,
it reverts back to insert mode. I would be happy if control-T would
toggle insert/overtype UNTIL I set it otherwise.
As far as when the change occured, this is the first upgrade I've done
in several months. I thought the caller-id fixes would be worth it.
