Mark: This may wind up to be a long winded e-mail message but I don't know how to explain my problem without laying some ground work. I am new at ECS just having purchased it about a month ago. I am using a TimeCommander as my PLC Interface. My computer is Pentium 100 Mhz with 48 MB of memory and I am using Win95. With that said, here is my problem. When I create or modify an event and there are no errors, the XMIT and REC lights on the TimeCommander don't flash. Otherwise, if I have an error they both begin to flash. I don't yet have a large amount of events, only about 18-20 at this time. Twice now even though ECS didn't see any errors when I created the events, during the night as it was processing it did find some errors. What it does then is stops the processing and freezes the monitor screen so that the monitor won't blank the screen for low power consumption. The second time it happened was at 1:15 AM and it turned on lights that shouldn't have come on until 5:15 PM. Even if I manually turn off those lights, as soon as I click Ctrl-A to start processing it turns those lights back on again but it won"t process any of the other events. As I said, I am very new at ECS and the only way I can find out what is the problem is to start eliminating events one at a time until the lights quit flashing. That isn't too bad right now but when I eventually create all the events I have planned for ECS that is not going to be a good way to problem solve. So here it is. Is there a way in ECS that I can access a file that would show me exactly where and/or what the problem is?? I sure hope you can offer some help because so far I am really pleased with what I have seen from ECS and I really want to expand my use of it but I can't do that until I can do the easy stuff right.
