Subject: From: Date: | Re: [ECS] Thermostat Selection questions Bill Walters Sat, 17 Apr 1999 01:21:42 -0500 |
Peter,
Thanks for the info. Worthington has them on their web page at $118.95
which seems like a good price.
I've tried to research on the HAI page, but all they have is the
"operations" manual. They offer installation manual only to "dealers".
Harrummph!
Mind my asking a few (ok, a lot) questions?
How was the installation?
Did you have to run extra wires to thermostat location or just use the 4
wires already available?
Is there a "control box" that mounts at the HVAC unit and requires
power?
Do you have all 3 connected to one serial port or use separate serial
ports (does ECS support the "networking" of all 3 together directly?)?
My "guess" is the RC-80 can connect using the existing 4 wires from the
current thermostat, but at the HVAC unit, you have to disconnect them
and wire instead to a controller box. Wiring from controller box goes
to HVAC unit and separate wiring (2,3 or 4 wires?) go to rs-232 of ECS.
Is this correct?
Thanks for your help.
