Subject: From: Date: | Homevision PC question... Stephen Weiss Sat, 17 Apr 1999 16:22:03 -0400 |
Hello all,
I am under the impression that some ECS users use the Home Vision PC
product to interface ECS with X-10, IR, etc. I am also contemplating
purchasing the unit to control the X-10 hardware and other devices in my
house. My question is: Where do you locate the Home Vision unit so that
it is operationally optimal? I guess I may be a little confused as to
the entire setup involving the PC attached to it, its proximity to
regular use of, say a universal remote and any digital and analog
connections that I want it to use/monitor.
My quandry is such that I would like to make use of its infrared
features from my main living area where I spend most of my time. I
would also like to have it connected to some digital and analog lines.
These digital and analog lines, which I was hoping to run to my central
wire closet in the basement where my video and home stereo controller
reside, would be quite a distance from the Home Vision unit which I'm
guessing would have to be located in my living room. I also wanted the
PC which would be attached to the unit to be in the same closet where
all my wires run.
Any/All advice, opinions, ideas welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Stephen Weiss
