Subject: From: Date: | RE: [ECS] ECS Timer Mark Sekelsky Sun, 18 Apr 1999 15:11:35 -0500 |
I don't have a JDS but I would think that the use of a timer is ECS
dependant and would have nothing to do with JDS. How do you execute the
timer in your event? Does the timer/start/stop?
Regarding sunset. First create a Sunset item. Mine is:
|Item:Time: Sunset Type:Sunset-Time Acc:User/User
| Initial State:Calculate Backup:No
| Latitude :41
| Longitude :88
| Time Zone :Central
Then create an item such as "Early Evening" like this:
|Item:Time: Early evening Type:State-Holder
Acc:User/User
|Initial State:(None) Backup:No
|Sub-Type :Sunrise-Time
Create an event that will execute everyday. I'll assume you have an item
"time."
If Time Is Now 12:01 AM
Then Time: Sunset Set Calculate
Then Early evening Set Time: Sunset
Then Early evening Subtract 60
Assuming that the event calculates Time: Sunet to be 6:00 PM, Early evening
will be set to 5:00 PM.

Subject: [ECS] ECS Timer
Mark:
I am using the JDS TimeCommander for my interface. Whenever I use a timer,
even one of your generic ones, ECS will count down the timer but won't act
on the Item or Event that is using the timer. What am I doing wrong ??
Another problem I have is that I can't seem to use the 0% for lighting. I
can only use ON, OFF or a percentage ON. Is this a hangup with
TimeCommander ??
Also, could you explain to me one more time how I can have an Event follow
Sunset. For instance, if I want an event to always happen an hour before
Sunset.
