I've also had this problem. It usually occurs when I unplug my HV from the
laptop (which is usually running ECS) and plug it into my desktop to do a
bit of playing.
I get the "PLC-Interface-2J not responding to G00 on com2" message when I
start ECS on the desktop. I usually cycle the power the HV (which doesn't
make any difference) then start up the HV software to check the HV and comms
are working OK which they are then reconnect to the laptop where everything
works then go back to the desktop and it works OK as well!! Now it's been a
while since I have 'played' like this so I can't recall the exact sequence
of events. So although I doubt this helps much, Ken, you are not alone.
I'm running Win95, with the HV on COM1 at 19200.
