Hi Mark!

Sounds great! However, can you please add a state to voice-interface-c
that we can test with an event to know when it is speaking? Here's why I
ask:

I use the relays in the redacs to pick the zone(s) that and audio
announcement is heard. So, I have events that close the necessary relays
before speaking, and opens them after speaking. If speaking becomes a
background task, then the relay's will close then immediately open, before
the words are spoken.

So, if voice-interface-c had a state of "speaking" , I could keep the relays
closed until the state went back to "operational"

Did that make sense?

Cheers!

Hello all.
FYI:
Within a week or so, I will be releasing ECS/Win 4.1 for beta
testing. This version will support a "sound-queing" methodology
whereas all sound output (WAVE and phone) will be queued and
played in the "background", allowing Event execution to continue
during playback. 4.1 will also support interactive control of
the SPEAK-MESSAGES playback process via ANY input device (such
as X-10 keypads). In other words, your Events can trigger REWIND/
FF/DELETE/etc per your keypad entries.

NOTE TO ECS/DOS USERS:
Due to the significant difficulty in attempting to maintain
ECS under two drastically-different operating systems, plus
a consistent lack of customer interest/sales over some 2 years,
I have finally decided to drop ECS/DOS. I hope you understand
the need. From a business perspective, I had already held out
FAR longer that I should have. Should anyone find a significant
bug, I can still rebuild ECS/DOS (4.0.027), but I would MUCH
prefer that everyone eventually start using ECS/Win. Thanks :-).
