Peter,

I wonder if you got a bad modem. I have had the Zoom modem for several
years and while no where near the quality of a Bigmouth it has been
adequate. When the group purchase happened I picked up another as a spare.
When I put that one in my PC I actually found that the sound quality
improved slightly.

Have you tried using other software with the modem? Any chance it could be
the driver?

Mark S

:Peter,
:For a test, try entering this command in a DOS session
:prior to running ECS (from that session):
: SET ECS_ADPCM_REV=1
:If this fixes it, place this command in \AUTOEXEC.BAT.

:Regarding the record-volume problem, I can only
:suspect your phone. Does it record at low-volume
:on remote calls ?
