Subject: From: Date: | ECS not responding Mark Sekelsky Wed, 19 May 1999 21:12:36 -0500 |
Mark,
Shortly after installing the lasted beta of ECS I got a phone call from
Out-of-area. During my phone event ECS locked up. It would not respond to
anything (no keys, mouse, etc.) I had to shut it down via Control/Alt/Del.
Since then I have not had another out-of-area call (or any call for that
matter). So at this point I have not replicated the problem (the wife is in
bed so I cant try and do it now). The errors in the ecs.log were:
0006 O 05/19 5:20 PM:Call from Out-of-area
0007 O 05/19 5:21 PM:TTSA tmo (Item "Text-a") (FL_SQ_WV_SRV)
0008 O 05/19 5:21 PM:Wave device is busy (Item "Text-a")
0009 O 05/19 5:21 PM:Wave device is busy (Item "Text-a") ("Phone Service"
line 135)
The section of the event that executes was:
| BEGINIF Somebodies home Is On
| If Caller-ID-C Is Not Now None
| And Known phone caller Is False
| And Caller-ID-C Is CID: Out of area
| Then Text-a T1<-T1 Msg:Phone call from
| Then Text-a Set <Space>
| Then Text-a T1/A<-T1 Caller ID: Name
| Then Text-a Set Speak/W->VC
| ENDIF
The line with Speak/W->VC is line 135 (see ecs.log). ECS *Did* announce the
caller. ECS did NOT answer the phone (logic to answer is in another part of
the event).
I don't know if this will ever happen again, but thought the errors may
provide some clue to you.
