That's how it works. Just as an additional note: there are a few cases that
justify this, but as a general rule, it is considered bad netiquette to
crosspost messages to newsgroups - especially if you crosspost to many of
them at the same time.
The way to do this crossposting actually varies from one newsread to the
next. In Netscape, you have to enter each group name into a separate line
in the header. Free Agent works the way you describe.
