OK, have to confess, I'm not sure how I initiated the message playback.

Think on the ECS console, I set the "ACE-Speak New Messages" item to
True. The resulting event has has two components...  The first, speaks
"Working" and is spoken with "Speak/W".  Then, it sets "Speak-Messages"
item to "Speak/New" which does not have any "wait" associated with it.

 Watched the state of "Speak-Messages" item and it didn't change... I'll
look again to make sure.
