Dave,

Download ECS-Lite and the entire user's manual will be included (it's a
HTML document).

Plus, you'll get the ability to use ECS-lite for some 120 days ( I
think?).  

Don't have a "clue" as to your other questions; I just know that for the
last year and a half, I've been "tinkering" with ECS and without
exception, have been extremely pleased with it!
