I'm sorry, I meant, Magnetic Lock.  They are used on many commercial doors, and they
are electromagnets that hold the door shut by magnetism.  They usually have holding
pressure at 600 - 3000 pounds depending on which model you buy.  They are common on
many banks, and access doors etc.  They use typically 12 volts, and draw only about
150 ma.  They have no moving parts, and can be controlled by voltage.  I saw these first
at an access door at a company I worked at that had a lot of around the clock traffic.
 I have wanted one ever since.  Securitron makes one model and there are many others
too.  There are some models that look like they would work well on a home door that
are in the 1200 pound pull area.
