WINE is really still considered to be in pre-alpha by the Linux
community, it's buggy and crashes a lot, so I certainly wouldn't trust
it to run my house. I haven't tried it in over six months, though.
Maybe it's better now.
I'd give it a shot just for kicks, but my Linux box is off the network
right now. Maybe I can get to it next week sometime.

I only have experience with Caldera. It comes with a mini-version of
PartitionMagic that resizes your disk into a DOS/Win partition and the
Linux partitions. It's worked well for me.
And yes, you can dual-boot then, but you have to be careful setting up
either PartitionMagic's booter or LILO, but not both.
