Subject: From: Date: | RE: [ECS] HELP!! Central AC causing noise? Lanter SB (Steven) at MSXSOPC Thu, 10 Jun 1999 18:46:22 -0500 |
Could it be a neighbor who has started his own X-10 system, and the two
houses share the same transformer? Seems a stretch, though, someone getting
a system up that is big enough, so suddenly, to cause this much havoc!
As far as noise from the AC compressor is concerned, I would've thought the
noise would just block valid X-10 signals, not create them.

Subject: [ECS] HELP!! Central AC causing noise?
:I need some help. I have had my system (HV-PC - ECS - many
:receivers/transmitters) set up since Christmas and the only problem I had
was if
:the furnace fan was on I couldn't control a certain circuit. This wasn't a
major
:problem and I've been considering putting a filter inline(any
suggestions?). Now
:however w/ the central AC running my house seems to have gone crazy and the
wife
:ain't happy at all!!!
:I have lights from different circuits going on and off all night, the
doorbell
:chimes at random day and night and fans are turning themselves on and off.
:I assume that this is due to noise from the AC compressor. Is there an
inline
:filter of some sort that would work with the compressor? Or am I off base
and
:something else is going on?
:
:Thanks in advance,
:Tom
