RE: [ECS] Oh, another issue

Hi Mark!

I'm not sure whether you want me to explain what I am trying to accomplish -
or - what isn't working, so I'll do both. :)

I use the relays in the redacs to pick the zone(s) throughout the house
where audio announcements are heard. So, I have events that close the
necessary relays before speaking, and then opens them after speaking. Now
that speaking is a background task, the relay's close and then immediately
open, before the phrase is even spoken.
So, after I close the relays, I need to test the state of voice-interface-c
to see if it is "Busy" so I can keep the relays closed until the state goes
back to "idle."
Now, often, I close the relays speak a few separate phrases, then I open the
relays. Because of this, I would prefer it if voice-interface-c's state
would remain "Busy" while there are phrases waiting in the queue to be
spoken. If voice-interface-c's state goes back to operational immediately
after speaking the first phrase, the relays will then open, and the
remaining phrases will be unheard.
In a nutshell, what I am looking for is this: I would like
voice-interface-c's state to be "Busy" while it is speaking/playing, and
remain "Busy" while there are items queued to be spoken/played. Conversely,
I would like its state to be "idle" when it is at rest.
I thought you had added this capability after I sent you a message with a
similar request, when you first announced ECS 4.1. I also noticed in ECS.HTM
that "Busy" now appears to be a valid state of voice-interface-c. However,
when I enter this line in the event editor:
If voice-interface-c is busy
I get this error:
ERROR:"busy" is not a valid selection.

I hope all that made sense. If not, let me know, and I'll try again. :)

Cheers!

Michael David
