Michael,
Thanks for the explanation though I'll need to chew on it for a while. I'm
one of those software types trying to understand the EE world better.
What I'm toying with is a) have the sound card drive one of four line level
inputs to a bank of stereo receivers (4 or 5) that will drive my audio zones
(two rooms per zone) and use IR to select the input source and A|B|A+B in
each zone or b) use some small dedicated speakers in several rooms and drive
them along the lines of what you are doing by turning certain ones on and
off with relays. I understand the first solution and your input will
hopefully help me evaluate the second.
