Hi Folks!

So, Mark asked me to try the latest version of ECSW, and all related files
to see if my Everlock problem would go away. Lo-and-behold. My drive
appears to still be authorized after all. Something he changed in this most
recent version, (that I hadn't found time to d'load), fixed the problem.
Thanks Mark!

Now, I have to tell you all that it was really a total shock to us living
without ECS for just one day. After seven years of continuous operation,
except for an hour here and there for updates, we found out just how
dependent we are on ECS for our everyday lives. Here are some of the things
that went wrong because we were without ECS:

No caller id; meant I had to personally blow of three or four telemarketers;

No phone answering, which meant the baby got woken up a few times while we
were making the dash to stop the ringing;

Missed a FedEx delivery because we didn't know anyone was at the door;

No reminder to give our Dog her heartworm pill, so we missed that;

Without ECS to run our AV equipment, I had to spend an hour finding the
satellite remote;

Unfortunately, we had no batteries for said remote, so we had to go out and
get them;

Couldn't arm the alarm when we left, of course;

When we drove up the driveway, ECS couldn't announce to the aforementioned
dog that we were home , so she went ballistic when she thought a stranger
was coming through the door;

While we were out, the house ended up about four degrees hotter than normal
because ECS wasn't handling HVAC. Made the dog even more unhappy
(Keeshound - lot's of fur). Three hours to cool off - the house that is.
The dog took a bit longer;

Also while we were out; missed an important call from work about the
security alarm going off. I found about it later when they called to find
out why I hadn't responded. In addition to taking the message, ECS would
normally page me to let me know who called;

"Xena" didn't get recorded for the wife (ok, no big loss there...);

Stubbed my toe, travelling through the living room in the dark. The light
switch is on the other side of the room. Usually not a problem, since ECS
handles all lights by detecting motion;

Couldn't arm the security system when we went to bed, so didn't sleep well,
because I kept waking up at every sound;

Of course, without ECS to raise the temperature when we went to bed, the
house was too darn cold when we got up;

We left the basement lights on all night;

We were late getting out of the house this morning, because we overslept;

In addition, since yesterday afternoon, I have been in a bad mood because I
was suffering from ECS withdrawal. I think I'm quite addicted!

Fortunately, I got my fix today, and all is at peace with the world. :)

Cheers!
