Subject: From: Date: | Re: [ECS] VNC N1FBG.aol.com Mon, 5 Jul 1999 09:47:23 EDT |
Hi Mark,
I downloaded VNC version Win32(Intel). Unzipped and then ran the setup.
On the remote computer or Host I ran the Vnc server program WinVnc 3.3.2. It
also asks for a password so I gave it a simple password otherwise it wont
work without it.
BTW the program leaves a small icon on the systray.
Then upstairs to the other computer to run the Vnc viewer. The viewer comes
up asking for Vnc server. This (since the computers are already networked)
is the name of the other computer(from network neighborhood) followed by :0
ie. the other machine is called Cellar so the input to the viewer is
Cellar:0
It then asks for the password of the Cellar machine. Thats it...
Now the screen comes up with the same display as the remote machine. If you
right click on the viewer taskbar button you can then change the options and
make the display a full screen. Its a lot easier than it sounds.
