Hi Bill,
I owe you a more in depth e-mail about some other issues, but for your immediate question.
I have a DSC 5010 system. I really like it. I don't have many sensors but I use the
digital low voltage output expansion board to tell ECS what is going on with the system.
I send the input directly into my HomeVision PC. I also have the intercom expansion
board with intercoms. The intercoms work well and I patch the HA computer into the
system and ECS speaks through it or Winamp can play through it.
Sorry, I am not familiar with the 3000 system. The DSC system does, however seem to
be very durable and I have not had any problems as of yet. Knock on wood
