Hi All-
I seem to be keeping the list busy today. :)
Mark G and anybody with a Marrick X-10 Coprocesor using ECS 4.1.003
Well, I'm moving along in my ECS 4 install, but I've finally run into a
problem.
I've installed all my previous hardware EXCEPT for my Marrick X-10
Coprocessor (PLC only version). It locks up ECS when I try to install the
Marrick device.
Mark, Here's the steps:
1. I take my config and add a PLC-Interface-2D type to it. I mark the Item
as disconnected and then save the config.
2. I make sure my X-10 board is connected to COM1.
3. I set the PLC-Interface-2D to COM1 and press save. The top line of the
ECS Item window says Modifying Item...
Then ECS stops responding. The lights on the X-10 coprocessor all flash in
unison, about every 2 seconds. This continues until I press
Control-Alt-Delete and End the ECS process. ECS will not respond during this
time. The hard drive accesses briefly every few seconds while this occurs.
I've investigated hardware setup and everything is fine. The Device Manager
shows all interrupts and I/O ports have no conflicts. I have two other
devices, An internal Rockwell based modem on COM4 and a Model 40 interface
on COM2.
I can run hyperterm and access the X-10 coprocessor just fine, setting it
for 1200,8,N,1. If I press T the processor responds with the "uptime" since
it was initialized. I have entered the commands from the Marrick Manual to
reset the device to factory defaults.
I'm using the same cable that I had on the processor when it was running
with ECS 3.4, just about an hour before this test. I have also moved the
Marrick box to COM2, after removing the Model 40 from my ECS configuration.
So basically I'm without X-10 control. Any help would be appreciated.
