Subject: From: Date: | Flexport Card/Serial Ports herronf.us.ibm.com Sun, 18 Jul 1999 10:32:08 -0400 |
I have an ISA based Flexport Card. I had it set up under Windows 95 for Com 5,
6, 7 and 8 with Addresses of 100, 180, 290 and 340. All IRQs addr as 9. Tried
using Com 6 or 8 today and get ERROR: WF: COM 8 (w95 error #461). Since I am
not using a printer I disabled LPT1 in bios. This freed up IRQ 7. Plugged
Flexport Com 6 and Com 8 for IRQ 7. Changed the settings in Windows Device
Manager and ECS settings. Start ECS. If I inst. Phone Intf D first on Com 8 it
goes well but then attempting to install PLC-Intf-2J on Com 6 gives me
"PLC=INTF-2J not resp to GOO on Com 6".
If I disconnect both and put PLC-Intf-2J on Com 6 first it is OK, then try
adding Phone Intf D to Com 8 get message when doing the save: ERROR: WF: COM 8
(w95 error#461).
Do I need a different Serial port card for Windows 95 ECS? Is anyone
successfully using the Flexport under Win95?
If so how is it setup? I got the instructions from Flexport off Internet and
this should work. Am I at a Win95 or ECS problem state? Will gladly buy new
card if needed, Thanks, Frank
