This update is now available at http://www.usit.com/omnip/ECSU.ZIP.
NOTE: Please download from ECSU.ZIP when directed (instead of ECSL.ZIP),
as "too much" download traffic can result in additional ISP charges.
4.1.004 (07/20/99)
58) The HELP window now displays the version #.
59) Ever since I enhanced my serial (COM) I/O library to support
asyncronous ("background") I/O, some of us have occasionally
seen an error message similar to the following (for various
devices):
ERROR:CCE3:COM2(COMM err#2: RX overrun) (Item: "{...}-Interface")
"RX OVERRUN" denotes a receive-buffer overrrun, but I strongly
suspect that Win is erroneously reporting this status (for reason
unknown). So ECS now ignores this error IF the RX buffer is not
full at the time (if the buffer is not full, there has been no
overrun). If my theory is correct, we should not see this error
again.
