Recording new Outgoing phone message

Mark Gilmore,

Having some difficulty since converting to ECS 4.1 with an event I use
to change my "outgoing" message remotely.

Here is the event (in the "remote-phone macro" event):

;766 = RNM (record new message)
Else if Remote Phone Macro Is 766
Then Msg_Make New Greeti Set Speak/W
; above line plays message "Record your new outgoing message
Then Msg_Phone greeting2 Set Record/W
; above line sets the outgoing message to "record"
Then Remote Phone Macro Set 0

This event worked flawlessly under ECS for DOS. I have to confess I
hadn't had occasion to use it until recently. When I did, it seemed to
work, but wouldn't ever release the phone line after recording the new
"outgoing" message. When I got home, I reset ECS and it released the
phone line. I tried it again (using second phone line here at home, and
duplicated the failure of Phone-Interface-C to release the line after
making the recording.

So, I added the next line of code:

Then Phone-Interface-C Set Reset

and now, I can call in, enter "766", get the prompt "Record your new
outgoing message", a tone (ok, ready to record now), then ECS hangs up
on me.

In the "Messages" window of ECS, I have the following error:

ERROR:Modem ERROR responding to "AT#VTX" (Item "Remote Phone Sess.")
("Proce

and can't see the rest of the message, since it's cut off at the right
hand edge of the ECS message window.

What files do you need to help me sort this out?

Bill
