Subject: From: Date: | Re: [ECS] OMNI RCS-80 Thermostats freemanb.us.ibm.com Wed, 4 Aug 1999 10:53:48 -0500 |
Bill:
I'm stumped.
You appear to have checked everything I would suggest. I'm running two
RC-100's on a single serial port with V4.1.003, so I can vouch for the ECS
support. I wired mine up exactly per the diagrams in the HAI literature.
Are you sure the connections at the 'stat end of the cable are correct and that
the 'stat connector is not reversed or offset (not sure either of these are even
possible. I've not been into my 'stat wiring for over a year)?
Maybe your 'stat is defective.
Sorry I couldn't be more help. Good luck.

Bill Freeman

Subject: [ECS] OMNI RCS-80 Thermostats
Does anyone on the list have any experience with these thermostats?
I've got one and not able to get it to communicate with ECS.
Comm port verified OK.
Connections verified OK.
Using ECS 4.1.x
I've gone into the "setup" mode on the thermostat, have it set for
station 1, 300 baud RS-232 operation.
Everytime I click "SAVE", ecs trys to talk to thermostat and fails.
I've hooked up rs-232 "monitor" and see all cd/rts lights go green, TX
Data cycles but RX Data just doesn't get anything.
HELP!
