Subject: From: Date: | PCI expanders Dan Carrington Wed, 04 Aug 1999 20:59:07 -0700 |
I have recently had a need for more PCI slots on a graphics machine at work and
found a company that sells PCI expanders. Basically what they are is a PCI card
you stick in your computer, a cable that runs to another computer case with a
controller in it that runs a 4, 7, or 13 slot PCI passive backplane in which you
install your PCI cards. Kind of cool. They said their prices run from $600ish
to $1000ish depending on the case and number of slots you add. A bit of money,
but depending on what you need they may do the trick.

no interest in the company, just found it interesting....
