Subject: From: Date: | TTS commands, anyone? Scott Reston Wed, 11 Aug 1999 08:25:12 -0500 |
is anyone using the embedded control tags (like CHR=...)with TTS under ECS 4.x? which
characteristics have you had the best results with?
i haven't been able to tell any difference when i use these tags, so i assumed that
my speech engine (i use mike) doesn't support them. i just listened to a sample
from microsoft's TTS page (http://www.microsoft.com/iit/projects/mstts.htm) and it sounds
like they may have used some characteristic tags... of course i
*could* just be hearing things...
is anyone using the \PRN=\ tag to give the correct pronounciations of words? have you
come up with an easy way to manage when you've got several
pronunciations that get used a lot.. perhaps make a couple of text items that hold all
of your hard-to-pronounce words and always prepend these to a spoken
text string? will this slow down the 'reaction time' of a spoken piece of text?
