<Hi Glenn:> < Care to share some of your events?> <Don> Sure: The attached files contain the custom TYPEs, the ITEMs and the EVENTS one would need to monitor temperature from a Dallas DS1820 IC using a HA5 interface with ECS. Thought not well documented the files should give you some idea what is involved. The procedure needed to measure temperature from a DS1820 using an HA5 adapter and ECS goes something like this: 1. Send the ID number of the individual DS1820 to the HA5 using send->com command. 2. Send a "get temperature" command to the HA5. 3. The HA5 responds with a series of ASCII coded bytes. 4. Go through the grueling process (sorry Mark) of converting an ASCII code to it's numeric equivalent. 5. Convert the numeric hexadecimal number to a decimal number ECS can use. 6. SET the Decimal number to a Temperature using one of the custom types defined for the HA5. There is quite a lot involved but when it all comes together it works well and the Event is easily expanded to include any number of temperature devices. Hope this meets your needs Regards Glenn Zupsic
