I've just added some general purpose I/O boards to my
product list that include drivers for Win95/98/NT that
include interrupt support.  The boards are your generic
82C55 I/O type and include some prototyping area.
I believe mine are the only ones with this kind of driver
support included.
   I don't have a board with 96 points of I/O but you could
either use 2 boards or add your own extra I/O IC's.

Check it out and please send me any comments (good
or bad)

I have wanted to run ecs under winnt, but I was under the impression that
the NT operating system will not allow a program to talk directly to a
hardware location.  This would prevent any i/o calls to an interface board.
I have one with a pio interface on it and I was going to use the calls in
ECS to write to the ports to make it work.  I suppose if you buy a card that
has an NT vdx driver, it would work, but I dont have one.  Do you use
anything like this under NT?  I will be using this to monitor the doors and
windows, etc.  I think I have identified 48 digital inputs for my house by
the time I'm done (doors, pir's, status switches..like deadbolt positions
etc.)

Just thought you might have an idea.  Most of the commercially available
stuff is limited to 16 inputs.  My card does 96 inputs or outputs in groups
of 8.

I've been unnung ECS under NT for a while now.  All works well except:

1) The text from events in the event page don't line up into easily readable
columns.  This is because Mark had to display that text in a proportional
font.  For some reason that excapes menow, he had trouble with mono-spaced
fonts on that page.  So, it's messy to read, but otherwise works ok.
Because of this, I generally look at my events in a text editor.

If any of you are NT programmers, and have any thoughts on how Mark could
get around this, please speak up!  :)

2) The "About" button on the group page doesn't work.  I haven't mentioned
this earlier because it is insignificant.  Mark, if you are ever bored and
want to track it down, let me know, and I'll send you the error message.

Otherwise, It works great under NT, and is MUCH more stable than Win98.
Once I worked out the driver problems when I migrated to NT, I have yet to
see a crash.

In short, NT is a much better operating system for mission-critical
applications.  And, ECS is a much more mission-critical application than
anything else in my world.  :)
