Yes. I had a heck of a time running wires in my two story house. I used a 5 ft. drillbit,
and drilled holes in the closet walls so they will not be seen. If I ever build a house,
I will design things into it that make the job easier. conduits, crawl spaces, and
lots of prewiring. Anyway I run a 486/66 and CANT get the msttsl4.0 to work with it.
It studders. I tried a different sound card. I tried the telephone voice, etc.
I have resigned myself to buy a pentium motherboard. I found some bare bones systems
like k6-350 with sound, video, and case/powersupply, 32mb ram, and floppy for about
$169. I have to save up for this now. We will see.

I am one of those stairwell closet automators too! Works great as I have access due
to a trace (?? my building knowledge fails me today and that may not be the correct
term) to the second floor and attic, and crawl space. Computer, Homevision unit with
expansion boards, wiring and cable, all come together. Not a very big place but it
works!
I bump my head a lot. I had to take out the chair as I could not sit up straight without
hitting the bottom of the stairwell landing. Now I have a little box on wheels and not
very comfortable! With ECS Windoz I networked the PC to the others in the house. I
can play with ECS via PCANYWHERE and sit at my desk on the second floor, just wish it
was faster!! I have ACE up and running and REAL Pleased but have a couple of stray
buttons that can't keep their state. I too need to tackle the heat problem. I have
a little fan running and I am keeping the closet door open during the summer. During
the winter is is usually not a problem.
I would like to have a weather station too! Peet Bros sounds good. Maybe Santa will
help me out since everything else is going to the dentist! My next project is to connect
the Omni Pro to ACE since it is not supported in ECS. I am sure it could be hooked
up via serial interface to ECS but I have not learned those tricks yet!

It's all true, guys, my wife ostracized me and all my HA "junk" to the
laundry room! Node 0 is just a couple of feet away from "Snuggle". Someone
else tell me the same things has happened to him, so I'll feel better.
Contrary to what Gary intimated, I don't do the laundry. (Pam doesn't =
trust
me--thank heaven.) I do, however, have a 1940's mahogany phone booth =
around
the corner, complete with old phone. The kids love it. (Okay, so do I.)
I'll slink back to my cave now... I'll get you, Gary! ;-)
