Hi Mark: Well, to start with, I use my weather station to determine the time my sprinklers stay running, and if the wind is excessive, to shut down the sprinklers. If it is a nice night, and there are many in Southern Cal, I simply turn off the thermostat until the outside temp is either to high or low.
