Subject: From: Date: | Want to try a WinAmp control program? David A. Kindred Thu, 2 Sep 1999 09:52:31 -0400 |
Guys,
I thought you might be interested in a small application I wrote in Delphi
(no support DLL's needed) which controls WinAmp. I've just sent it to 5
people for testing and I played with it, myself, with HAL2000 last night
without any big problems (It overrode HAL's VR while it was playing, but
that's WinAmp's fault, not that of this utility).
It's really easy to use. You just have to make sure WinAmp is running,
first, then shell out to WACTRL with a command line paramter. That's it.
Here's what you can do with the program:
Usage: WACTRL [Parameter]
Valid parameters:
PLAY -- Starts/Resumes playing
STOP -- Stops playing. Moves pointer to start of file
PAUSE -- Pauses playing
DELETE -- Deletes current play list
START -- Starts playing file from start of file
FFWD5S -- Fast forward 5 seconds
REW5S -- Rewind 5 seconds
NEXTSONG -- Start playing next song
PREVSONG -- Start playing previous song
VOLUP -- Raise WinAmp volume
VOLDOWN -- Lower WinAmp volume
ONTOP -- Toggle WinAmp's status of being topmost application
C:\FILE PATH\FILE.MP3 -- Add file to play list
C:\FILE PATH\FILE.M3U -- Add play list
? -- Shows help
Samples:
WACTRL C:\MP3\JAZZ.M3U
WACTRL PLAY
The executable is about 200K. Let me know if you'd like to try it out.

P.S. Disclaimer: WACTRL is not a HAL product. No guarantees, etc.
