Subject: From: Date: | Zoom Modem LEC1964.aol.com Thu, 9 Sep 1999 16:07:19 EDT |
Mark,
I could use some help with the Zoom Modem.
1. ECS.EXE Ver 4.0.025
2. Pentium MMX, 233 mhz
3. Phone interface-C and Phone-Call TYPE
4. Zoom ComStar SVD Model 2800
I actually have two questions/problems:
Problem 1.
5. Error Message... "Error: Call Aborted No Carrier Detected"
6. "Set" Phone-Call TYPE to call a number where continuous Ringback will be
detected. (The line is not busy and the call will not be answered).
Comment: 50 seconds (12-15 rings) is needed for the call to terminate. "No
Carrier Detected" is not listed as a valid state.
Problem 2.
5. Error Message... No error message.
6. "Set" Phone-Call TYPE to call a cellular number.
Comment: "Call Completed" is indicated even though Ringback can still be
heard. (No one has answered).
Since the Zoom 2800 is no longer listed as a recommended modem do I need to
upgrade to the ComStar 56K?
If I append an "S" register command ('S7=25") to the ATDT Command Line I was
not successful in reducing the "No Carrier Detected" timeout. Do you limit
VALID AT Commands to only those listed in the documentation?
Thanks
Larry C.
