ECS 4.1.009 has been released/uploaded, and incorporates the changes
below. For upgrade instructions, see "DOWNLOADING/INSTALLING UPDATES"
in ECS.HTM.
The EXECUTE/NW problem has been corrected.
4.1.009 (09/17/99)
97) A new Type (HUNDREDTHS) is now supported (for 0.01...327.67)
* 98) The following WEATHER-IFC-A Settings are now denoted in
hundredths
(instead of tenths):
Barometric-Pressure
Daily-Rain
Yearly-Rain
* 98) The OFF/ON States of the LIGHT/B Items now send only OFF/ON
commands
to the module, so that ON will restore the previous DIM level.
The previous OFF/ON States have been renamed to 0%/100%.
99) A strange problem has been "corrected" (coded around) whereby
the
CM11A would fail to transmit multiple/consecutive 6381 commands.
100) Corrected an oversite which resulted in Event-execution
exceeding
4 per second when the mouse was active in the ECS Window(s).
* 101) The default output file for WPDL.EXE (web page download utility)
has been changed from WPDL.TMP to WPDL.HTM. PLEASE CHANGE ANY
APPLICABLE COMMANDS AND/OR BATCH FILES ACCORDINGLY.
102) EXAMPLE.CFG now supports the ability to announce your favorite
TV shows as they air, per schedule listings which are downloaded
weekly (see "TVL" Items).
103) A bug has been corrected which could cause "funny" characters to
be pasted into an Event if you selected the destination line by
clicking the line # (to the left) instead of the line itself.
* 104) Having discovered a nasty conflict when attempting to execute
two programs simultaneously (without waiting), I have implemented
a more "robust" method of executing Text Items and other programs:
Each execution is now assigned a dedicated/TEMPORARY console
window (the permanent ECS console Window has been eliminated).
To view the output of a command(s) for verification, you must
now re-direct its output to a text file (e.g. "DIR *.* > DIR.TXT").
But note that output/input re-direction is ONLY supported via the
EXECUTE & EXECUTE/ND States (execute with WAIT). To re-direct
withOUT waiting, place the re-directed command in a batch file
and execute it (via EXECUTE/NW or EXECUTE/NW/ND).
105) The AUTHORIZATION-CODE Item State now reflects the authorized
mode
(LITE or STANDARD).
106) A bug has been corrected which could cause IS NOW statements to
fail in CALLED Events.
107) ECS normally executes 4 Event-passes per second, via a timer set
to 250 (milliseconds). This time may now be overridden by placing
the command "SET ECS_TMR_MSECS={d}" in \AUTOEXEC.BAT, where {d}
is the desired # of milliseconds. Settings below 100 are NOT
recommended, as this may cause Win to fall behind.
108) Fixed recently-introduced bug whereby FILE and PARALLEL-BYTE
Items
were read at the start of every Event-Pass (they should be read
ONLY when referenced in an Event).
* 109) The LIGHT/B State value for OFF has been changed from 64 to 0,
and the percentage States values have been incremented by 1
(0%=1, 1%=2, etc).
* 110) A bug has been corrected which could cause statements following
an ELSE-IF to be erroneously executed if the ELSE-IF was
followed by a comment-line:
If True Is True
Else If False Is True
; The bug could cause the following line(s) to be executed:
Then ...
111) EXAMPLE.CFG now supports automatic announcing/viewing/recording
of TV shows (see EXAMPLE.CFG for instructions).
