Mark,
I too use the mouse remote but have not had the problems some describe with
the thing falling asleep. I use it with ECSD (D for Dinosaur) in graphics
mode, and it works perfectly. Could the problems others have experienced
actually be windows issues?
I agree that this is a better interface than palm pads, but I would want to
have the functionality of being able to move between group and message
screens.

Subject: Re: [ECS] MouseRemote ?
I am looking to support this device as an HA remote,
whereby ECS reads it directly from the serial-port.
I want a superior alternative to the PalmPad (?) X10
RF remotes (which are slow and erratic).
I will be receiving one in a few days, but you guys
may want to experiment by reading/intepreting the
bytes it sends to the COM port (via SERIAL-BYTE Item).
This should be simple, as it only sends a few bytes
per button-press (from what I have heard).
The MouseRemote software should be REMOVED.
The setup is 1200 baud, 7-bits, no-parity.
To first experiment with COMIO, enter:
COMIO {port#} B1200 L7 X16
Then push each button and see what it sends.
If convenient, please send this info to me.
Thanks.
