Re: [ECS] Phone/intercom -> SR

Mark,

That's exactly what I've been trying to get to work here.
I got a Panasonic KX-TC911, about $80, that has an instant on
intercom.
A lot of them have to have the intercom answered at the base
which defeats
the purpose.
I opened up the unit and cut the leads to the speaker, and
ran
wire back to the ECS station from the unit. There I hooked up

a small speaker in an enclosure with a small mic thats wired
to my sound in.
Sounds funky I know.
I tried wiring the leads directly to the sound in, thru a
mixer, but got
a lot of hum, even after lowering the levels.
This actually works pretty well except the unit will produce
some
static at times that SR can interpret as commands.
You might ask around about wiring the speaker leads directly
into
the mic input without getting the hum.
I trained the commands thru the phone and was able to get at
least
90% accuracy.

Hope this helps,

Carl
