Hi Tom, Most TV's- Even my old Magnavox have a button (Or IR Code) that will call up the previous channel the TV was on. Kind of like a recall button or LAST channel button. That is what I use. So when a call comes in, you change all TVs to the HV channel (using individual IR codes). After the HV displays the CID info and after a specific interval, send the LAST channel IR codes to the TVs. This should put all TVs back to the channel they were on. As long as the codes for the TVs are independent and don't interfere with each other you should be able to use the same connecting block. Good Luck Kevin -----Original Message----- From: Tom Hutchins [mailto:hutchins_ta@fuse.net] Sent: Saturday, October 16, 1999 9:42 PM To: ecs-list@netbloc.com Subject: Re: [ECS] Fw: [HOMEVIS] Overlaying HV data on whole house CTV Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll have to go for the dedicated HV channel. Any thoughts on what would be the right modulator to use? Also, since I'll need to change 4 different models of TV's (unfortunately none have PIP) can I use a simple 4 output amplified IR connecting block and send the signals out to all TV's? How do I know which channel each set was on before changing to the HV channel, so that I can switch back?
