I have a general HA question: Sorry for being off topic:

I have a sound card with no line out just speaker out.

I want to output this to my stereo.  I wired up a stereo plug:

Common:Common
Right:Right
Left:Left

But I get serious 60 cycle hum (at least I am pretty sure that is what it
is).

The cable I am using is shielded/twisted and I did not hook up the drain to
anything.

Any recommendations are welcome.
