What a crazy world. I was just in Radio Shack looking at just that part
wondering if I should spend the $19.95 for it!

Subject: RE: [ECS] Speaker Out Converter
Carl,
Yes, I am using Radio Shacks Line-Out Converter. I am using it to convert
from speaker out on my 100watt receiver to line in on my 70 volt 100watt
amp. The reason I am using it is so that my IR master can control the
volume on the amp. The end result is that ECS has volume control for the
whole house system. (works well) but did not solve my Hum. I did that by
running a ground wire from the chassis of all devices in my Automation
closet back to Earth ground. The output on the soundcard's speaker outputs
will be lower than the amp I mentioned but there is a pot on the device for
such. The good thing about SOME (trying to stay out of trouble here) of the
radio shack employees not being technical is this. I ask them if it will
work in my application and they say "Iduno". I say well if I buy it and it
doesn't work for me can I bring it back and they most usually say "Iguesso".
Hope that helps / Good luck
Doug Storey

Subject: [ECS] Speaker Out Converter
Hi,
Has anyone tried Radio Shacks Line-Out Converter
part # 12-1337? It's supposed to convert speaker outs
to line outs. I'm curious if it also filters 60 cycle hum.
Of course no at Radio Shack knows.
( still trying to get a good signal for SR from a cordless
phone)
Thanks,
Carl
