Hi Mark! Hey, very nice. Any chance of getting CTRL-Key and ALT-Key combinations for those menu choices? :) Cheers! Michael David michael@michaeldavid.com -----Original Message----- From: Mark Gilmore [mailto:omnip@usit.net] Sent: Wednesday, November 03, 1999 7:12 PM To: ecs-list@netbloc.com Subject: [ECS] Beta upload (new Win-style menus) http://www.usit.com/omnip/ecsb.zip (BETA) is NOW being uploaded (give it a few minutes). Feedback welcome: 4.1.016 (11/03/99) NOTE: The enhancements below related to phone-answer/call/paging and speech-recognition took some 2 weeks effort. So if you make extensive use of these new features, your "donations" would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. 125) A bug has been corrected which kept READ/UNKNOWN States from being supported for HVAC-SETTING-B Items. * 126) "S2" and "G2" have been eliminated from ITPCST.DEF, as these CBAND transponders are now obsolete. Please eliminate all applicable refs to these transponders in ECS.CFG. * 127) "T6" (new CBand transponder) has been added to ITPCST.DEF. If you wish to support T6 in ECS.CFG, refer to it's usage in EXAMPLE.CFG. 128) A bug has been corrected which kept ECS from waiting for playback completion when playing VOICE-RECORDING-C Items via various PLAY/W States. 129) Corrected problem which prevented READ States from working for HVAC-SETTING-B TEMP & SETPOINT Settings. * 130) ECS now supports CALL and CALL/W (wait) States for the PHONE-CALL Type: CALL now places the call in the "background" (Event processing continues), while CALL/WAIT waits for completion before continuing. An ABORTED State has also been added (for when call is aborted by user). * 131) The CALL/W State for the CID Type is no longer supported, under the assumption that it was not being used by anyone. 132) The internal logic which interprets received/transmitted X10 commands has been simplified. This change should have no effect on any external operations. 133) A bug has been corrected which could cause a Text Item's Text-Line to be corrupted if set to LOG STATES. 134) Correcting an oversite, ANALOG-INPUT-K now supports 16 inputs on the SECU-16I (as well as 8 on the SECU-16). * 135) When set to ANSWER (no wait), PHONE-ANSWER now performs ALL processes in the "background" (including playback of greeting msg). The RECORDING State has been renamed to ANSWERING. * 136) ECS now supports SEND->PAGER and SEND->PAGER/W (wait) States for the TEXT Type: SEND->PAGER now places the call in the "background" (Event processing continues), while SEND->PAGER/W waits for completion before continuing. * 137) For SR thru in-house phones, we are now recommending the use of an intercom phone whose intercom speaker is placed near the sound card mike (instead of a direct connection). Note that command responses will be routed thru the sound-card, NOT the phone. Likewise, for SR thru REMOTE phones, we are now recommending that the modem speaker be placed near the sound card mike (instead of a direct connection). For this reason, the speaker-volume command in PHNC0.SET/PHNC1.SET has been changed from low-volume (ATL1) to hi volume (ATL3). Unlike local SR sessions, responses ARE routed thru the phone. * 138) In the name of added simplicity (at least for new users :-)), the following TVL-related changes have been made: 1) TVLCHN.TXT (broadcast/cable channel# file) is obsolete: IF your programming source is broadcast or cable, then edit the appropriate channel file below and change the channel numbers as appropriate for your area (all should be TWO digits - use leading zeros where applicable): TZ-E.CHN Eastern time zone (broadcast or cable) TZ-C.CHN Central time zone (broadcast or cable) TZ-M.CHN Mountain time zone (broadcast or cable) TZ-P.CHN Pacific time zone (broadcast or cable) TZ-A.CHN Alaska time zone (broadcast or cable) TZ-H.CHN Hawaii time zone (broadcast or cable) 2) TVLDEL.BAT (channel deletion file) is obsolete. In order to filter out those channels which you do NOT receive, edit the appropriate channel file below and insert an asterisk ("*") before every channel that you DO receive (e.g. change "01 ABC" to "*01 ABC"): TZ-E.CHN Eastern time zone (broadcast or cable) TZ-C.CHN Central time zone (broadcast or cable) TZ-M.CHN Mountain time zone (broadcast or cable) TZ-P.CHN Pacific time zone (broadcast or cable) TZ-A.CHN Alaska time zone (broadcast or cable) TZ-H.CHN Hawaii time zone (broadcast or cable) C-BAND.CHN C-Band 4DTV.CHN 4DTV/C-Band DITV.CHN Direct-TV DITVUSSB.CHN Direct-TV & USSB ECHOST.CHN Dish Network PRIMST.CHN PrimeStar * 139) In order to avoid missing TV shows from 12:00AM->4:30AM, the following changes have been made: 1) TVL.BAT now downloads the listings for 8 days starting at midnight the current day, and the created listing file is now TVLNEW.TXT (pending listing) instead of TVL.TXT (current listing). 2) The "TVL DL" Event has been changed so as to start the TVL download (TVL.BAT) on Saturday at 4AM (instead of Sunday 4:30AM). At Sunday/12:00AM, this Event copies TVLNEW.TXT to TVL.TXT. * 140) TVL.BAT now deletes unwanted channels BEFORE calculating the duration of each program (to speed things up). 141) SR.EXE now appears in the lower/right portion of the screen. * 142) The PC-BELL Type has been renamed to CLICK. 143) For improved recognition accuracy, ECS now restricts the recognizable SR commands ONLY to those may apply to the current context. * 144) The SR-SESSION Item has been overhauled. Please modify any such Items as required (see SR-SESSION section of ECS.HTM). * 145) The SR-COMMAND Type is now obsolete, as SR-SESSION Items now serve this purpose. Please change any SR-COMMAND Items to SR-SESSION Items (see SR-SESSION section of ECS.HTM). * 146) When ECS speaks text, it now displays the text in the message line prefaced by "TTS:" (withOUT a "click"), and so the DISPLAY/SPEAK and DISPLAY/LOG/SPEAK are now obsolete. Please replace all occurrences of DISPLAY/SPEAK with SPEAK, and DISPLAY/LOG/SPEAK with LOG/SPEAK. Also note that you may remove any Event-Lines which set a TEXT Item to DISPLAY if the Item is also being set to any of the SPEAK States. * 147) When ECS logs text (via TEXT Item), it now displays the text in the message line prefaced by "Log:" (withOUT a "click"), and so the DISPLAY/LOG State is now obsolete. Please replace all occurrences of DISPLAY/LOG with LOG. Also note that you may remove any Event-Lines which set a TEXT Item to DISPLAY if the Item is also being set to LOG. 148) Corrected "error" in logic which reads ANALOG-INPUT-K Items (important info was left out of AD's CPU-XA protocol spec). * 149) EXAMPLE.CFG no longer handles Daylight Savings Time (DST), given that Windows does so. Please remove any related Items/Events from ECS.CFG (search for "D.S.T"). 150) SUNRISE-TIME/SUNSET-TIME Items now reflect these times PRE-adjusted for Daylight Savings Time. * 151) When SR.EXE reports a spoken command to ECS, ECS now displays displays the command in the message line prefaced by "SR:" (withOUT a "click"). * 152) The "RELAY ITEM" Parameter for the VOICE-INTERFACE-C Item has been eliminated. * 153) ECS now properly handles "modal" windows (those that restrict all user activity to that window until it is closed). For example, when you set a TEXT Item to SPEAK/W (with WAIT), the playback window appears and will not allow you to do anything in any other ECS window until playback is complete or you manually close it. Attempts to do so will result in a "ding" (standard Win sound used for this). 154) The user-interface has been changed so as to more closely conform to Windows standards. 155) A bug has been fixed which could occasionally cause an "invalid value" message on saves. -- Mark Gilmore Omnipotence (ECS home automation software) http://www.usit.com/omnip 423-745-0026
