RC-Series Communicating Thermostat

I am considering re-doing my zoned HVAC. Currently, I have no thermostats.
Instead, I use temperature sensors, the analog inputs and relays on a
MicroREDAC and Enerzone inflatable dampers. I would prefer a system that
has stand alone capability (in case the computer fails). I am thinking
about RC-Series Communicating Thermostats (RC-80). I have a couple of
questions about integrating the thermostats:

1) Do I need a serial port for each thermostat or can I put all three on the
same port?

2) Is there a way to set the swing temperature (this is the difference from
the setpoint that is necessary to turn the HVAC on or off)

3) Do the RC-Series thermostats remeber their programs in the event of a
power failure or will I have to reprogram them?

Regards,
Chris
