RE: [ECS] Serial Port Cards & NT

It depends. If you have a plug-n-play bios and you are inserting PCI cards,
NT will detect what you are doing. Otherwise, if you are inserting an ISA
card, you'll need to configure the interrupts, memory offsets, etc.
yourself. NT has some great utilities to help you do this (at least from the
OS perspective), so you're not flying blind like we were with the basic
Windows 95 that was shipped. I'm using Windows 2000 Professional, which is
really slick. Under Windows 2000, you run an app under the control panel
called computer management to find out exactly what resources are available
so you can set the card appropriately. Under NT 4.0, you have to go to
administrative tools to find out about available resources.

Regards,
Rob

of that stuff for me?
