Mark, I'm doing this in ECS now. I can post the code if you like.

Subject: [ECS] Another item for the wish list
Mark,
The TVL event and items gives me a thought for another wish list item. I
have a large number of items that are reminders (text items) for things like
birthdays and such. I then have a pretty lengthy reminder event. Could ECS
handle reminders in a similar way to how it reads tvl.txt? Here's an
example of how this might look (in a reminders.txt file):
11/01/**** Mark's birthday is on November 5th. 11/05/****
Wednesday Don't forget to tape Star Trek Wednesday
11/10/1999 You have haircut appointment tonight 11/10/1999
When ECS checks reminders (initiated by an event or the user) it reads
"reminders.txt." The first line would be spoken (TTS) if the date is 11/1,
11/2, 11/3, 11/4 or 11/5 of any year. In the second case the reminder is
spoken if it is Wednesday (any month, any year). In the third example the
reminder would only be spoken on 11/10/1999.
Any time I want to add, change or delete a reminder I simply edit
reminders.txt
I do not know how hard this would be to do, or more importantly if it would
have broad appeal to other, or I guess even more importantly, new customers.
