RE: [ECS] multiple sound cards

Hi Dave,

Yes, I have two sound cards on my machine. I have an Ensoniq 32 and a PCI
128, both from Creative. I have searched far and wide to try to find
information on how to do this "the right way" but I don't think there is a
"Right Way".

I installed one of the cards with its control software-no problems.

I installed the second card but I cannot configure it. There is a problem
with the "Audio LegacyPCI Device" that is installed with the cards. Windows
98 will not let me install two of these. Well, I can install two but only
one is working. I believe this is simply the control panel for the card
that the machine cannot install. The card itself installs and works -if you
can figure out how to use it.

BUT with WINAMP I can designate which card I use- way to go WINAMP!:
OPTIONS>PREFERENCES>AUDIOI/IO>CONFIGURE> Change from Wave Mapper (default)
to your PCI Audio card (Both should appear: PCI0 and PCI1). Then when ECS
tells WINAMP to play the non-TTS card plays. They work fine with no
problems together.

The problem I am having is: I can't figure out how to get both control
panels. I need this so I can enable the Line-OUT on my WINAMP sound card.
Right now only the speaker out is working.

I know it can be done more efficiently.....Hey maybe I will work on it some
more tonight. I'll let you know if I find anything new.

Good Luck, hope this helps.

Kevin

Anyone use multiple sound cards in their PC? I would like to have multiple
PC feeds of MP3 into an audio matrix switcher.

Thanks,
Dave
