Scott,
Local pickup was supported by the BigMouth, but
has never been supported by any of the supported
voice modems, as THEY don't support it.

But in looking at the ecs.htm file last night, I am confused about some things. I
searched for information by words that I thought might give me insight, but alas! I
still spent several hours trying figure things out. I'm not sure how to detect when
the phone is taken off the hook, so it can play a message and ask for information.
I thought I would have the system maybe talk to a person when they pickup the phone
and have to dial a 9 to get an outside line, etc. I remember that Mark said he removed
some things, (maybe I can find the old archives) and one of the guys said he used that
function for his kids to pickup the phone and leave a message before going out. Did
this really get removed, or was it just a thought? Also, I tried using the local-phone-button
to let me know someone picked up the phone with the status messages and it did not work.
Is this because I have not run the out!

to record the outgoing message and it recorded as a wav sound. So I know that part
is working. Any advice is welcome.
