Hi Brad,
ECS talks to HV via SERIAL commands. NO you cannot have HV software or
HV-PC software up and running off the same port concurrently. Sorry.
How are the touchscreens going? Are you using ACE. I am using ECS with a
"PC Anywhere" type of software right now. It is great. It is called
RADMIN: Check out http://www.famatech.com
Only bad thing is that you can only have one pc connected to the server at a
time. I find ACE a bit slow and not consistant. Still looking for the
perfect solution.
Kevin

Subject: [ECS] HomeVision Question
I am a new ECS user and was wondering how Homevison and ECS
communicate with each other. Does ECS use DDE or serial commands?
If it uses serial commands, can the HV software be up and running at the
same time ECS is running.
Thanks,
Brad Chamberlain
