RE: [ECS] Micro Redac Questions

Hi Don!

It has been 6 years since I added my 2nd and 3rd Redac, but I don't remember
any dip switch changes. When I get home tonight, I'll check and make sure.

The Classicboard 8 port serial board I use has RJ45s on it, so I just
connect the Redacs to it with modular cables. If I remember correctly, the
connector on one end of the modular cable is button up, and the other is
button down.

Unfortunately I don't really remember the pin outs for a RJ to DB9 or DB23
adapter, but I think I can get you close One of the center two pins of the
RJ is xmit and the other recv. Ground is the next pin out, right next to
one of those two pins.

You are sure the port for the second Redac is working, yes?

Good luck!

Cheers!

Subject:	[ECS] Micro Redac Questions

I'm trying to incorporate my old Applied Digital Micro Redac that I used on
my ECSD machine into a
new ECS system using a HomeVision as the PLC-Interface. When I redefine the
Micro Redac as station 1
the communication light stops flashing and I can't read any of the analog
sensors. There are 7 dip switches inside the unit but I'm clueless if they
need to be reset if ECS isn't going to use the Micro Redac as the
PLC-Interface. Someone was using multiple Redac's so perhaps he could shed
some light on this.
Also if anyone has the RJ-12 pinouts for the serial connector, I'd be
eternally thankful.

Don
