I have three intercoms on the system right now. I am using the radio/aux input
feature for ECS to speak to the house "works super!". I have the output of the sound
card signal connected to the " " terminal and the ground to ground - Only problem is
that I get a low hiss on the intercom stations - DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS?
A few things I would try:
Remove the connection from the sound card and see if the noise goes away to verify
the problem is with that connection. If so, try adding a 5K resistor from the terminal
input to ground in parallel to your sound card input. If that doesn't work you may
have to run the input through a relay controlled by ecs. Keep the relay off when you
are not using sound from the computer, and turn it on just before you want sound then
back off.
If the input makes noise just being open, (i.e. relay open) you may have to use
a DPST relay with the switch on the input to the intercom, and one pole to ground when
not used, and the pole to the sound card.
