Hi, Brad. Welcome to ECS!
ECS communicates with the HomeVision over the serial port. The HomeVision
PC software cannot be running at the same time (as they both want control
of the same serial port).
I'm not sure if this is what you're asking, but you CAN have your HV script
running in the HV at the same time ECS is running. I have a simple HV
routine that turns on the kitchen lights when a floor sensor is tripped. I
did this, because the Honey was getting ticked off when I'd have HAL/ECS
offline to do something, and she expected the lights to still work
automagically.
