I am attempting to use ECS to duplicate all of my existing HomeVision
events processing logic.  I currently have a HV event that sends a DDE
command to ACE that contains the commands to set a ACE client's
button appearance and stamp it with the current date or time. 

I currently have ECS talking via DDE to ACE. I am able to send commands
to ACE and ACE is able to monitor ECS items. I am looking for suggestions
or comments on the best way create a text item that would contain both
the ace command and the current date or time appended on the end of
the  text so ECS could be send it via DDE. Below is an example of a ace
command to update a button. 

acec:2:btn:0,0,0,12/10/99
